The Roller Coaster at New York New York is a sensational Las Vegas attraction that will keep you entertained for hours. This massive attraction in Las Vegas takes thrill seekers up a massive 203 feet, twirling round at high speeds and dropping down 144 feet before coasting along at 67 mph. The Roller Coaster begins with the slow 180 foot lift where riders begin to feel the sweat and intense build up before hitting a 76 foot drop. The ride then veers two inversions, a vertical loop and a terrifying dive loop that incorporates a twist and dive. The train then performs a 180 degree spiral before moving into a half-loop manoeuvre. By this point, riders find themselves on the roof of the casino, experienced small hills and a helix before pulling into the rides station which is themed to look like a New York subway station.
Located at the New York-New York Hotel & Casino, this famous roller coaster is a favorite amongst tourists worldwide. But the fun doesn't stop at the coaster! You can also visit the adjoining Big Apple Arcade and enjoy a host of different arcade games and video games. New for 2019: ride Big Apple Coaster with Virtual Reality! Big Apple Coaster (formerly Manhattan Express) is one of the most notable features of the Las Vegas skyline. You’ve probably seen it in countless movies and TV shows. The Roller Coaster at New York New York is not for the faint hearted. Built by TOGO, it has received a reputation as a rough, sometimes painful roller-coaster, with some riders previously having bruises on their shoulders from the G-forces that are experienced. However, these were with the old style trains and since the upgrade the ride is a lot more comfortable (still as scary, but more comfortable!).
Other upgrades include magnetic brakes installed in 2004, with the new trains installed in 2006, replacing the older, more painful TOGO style trains. Now the only complaints are screams of terror from the amazing loops, bends and turns of the Roller-coaster ride at New York New York in Las Vegas.

The first virtual reality ride to incorporate popular current landmarks into its creative visuals, the ride combines real G forces, drops and the high speed of The Big Apple Coaster to create an unforgettable experience.
The adventure begins as riders are equipped with virtual reality headsets, and they take on the role of a scientist in hot pursuit of an alien that escaped their research facility. The chase soars high above the Nevada desert and up the Las Vegas Strip, all virtually, of course.

This new experience was designed by VR Coaster®, the world’s leading creator of virtual reality enhancements on thrill rides. The coaster’s passenger trains are equipped with sensors that use wireless connectivity to precisely synchronize the virtual reality creative visuals with the real ride. This advanced, lightweight technology was developed to withstand the ups, downs, dives and loops of a roller coaster without losing connection to the virtual reality headsets. The experience utilizes VR Coaster’s unique graphic system, “Hybrid VR,” to deliver 3D footage in 4K resolution at 60 frames per second for high-quality visuals and a more immersive ride.

Measuring 4,777 ft. in track length, The Big Apple Coaster is the longest roller coaster in the world equipped with virtual reality. This, along with loops, negative Gs and top speed of 67 mph, gives guests a thrilling Las Vegas Strip experience.
