Join TodayTalking Stick Resort will host the 15th annual Arizona State Poker Championship Friday, Aug. 9 through Aug. 13. The Valley’s largest tournament of the year is expected to draw more than 1,000 participants, ranging from novice to professional, each playing for the estimated $1.5 million prize pool.
“Not only is The ARENA Poker Room the largest poker room in the Valley, it is also one of the busiest. We maintain a full roster of games and tournaments, but by far the Arizona State Poker Championship is the most exciting,” said Tom Young, director of poker at Talking Stick Resort. “The sheer number of players and the energy they bring to the room is unlike any other tournament we host.”
The highly anticipated five-day tournament will kick off at 9 a.m. each day in The ARENA Poker Room with the semi-finals on Monday, Aug. 12. To enter the tournament, players will pay a $1,100 buy-in giving them $16,000 in tournament chips to start. However, those who wish start with more will have the opportunity to purchase an additional $10,000 in bonus chips for $30. Players who make it to day five will return at 10 a.m. and play until a new champion is crowned taking home the 2019 Arizona State Poker Champion title.
The winner will take home $159,500, Rolex and a trophy, while second and third place will receive trophies and $119,350 and $88,000, respectively. Large prize pools draw large crowds so for the first time, Talking Stick Resort has partnered with Bravo Poker Live, to make registering for the event faster, secure and easier than ever before. Bravo Poker Live is the world’s most convenient and secure poker event registration portal on the web, and for the first time, players can utilize this tool to get in on the competition. The newly online registration process is available now by going to BravoPokerLive.com, or guests may register by signing up at the cashier in The ARENA Poker Room.
Further, players in the championship who would like to enhance their tournament experience can reserve a room at Talking Stick Resort for the special tournament rate of $89 plus a $25 service fee.
